How to Get Started as a Cam Girl
You have likely heard about the huge sums of cash you can make as a cam girl, right? There are some women who are turning over thousands of dollars in cash a month, for just a few hours of work every single night.
Be sure you want to be a cam girl
Being a cam girl is not for everybody. While we are more than happy to teach you how to become a cam girl, we do encourage you to take the time to think about whether this is something you really want. The second you start broadcasting, you are going to lose a bit of your privacy. You are going to be exposing yourself to the world. It is a massive deal.
Deciding your limits
Once you have decided that you really, really want to be a cam girl, then it is time to think about your limits. Nobody can make you do anything you do not want to do on camera. They may be paying you cash, but you have the right to do whatever you wish with your body.
It is recommended that you have some idea of how far you are going to go on camera. Are you willing to just get naked, or would you be willing to go as far as masturbation? Obviously, the more ‘intense’ your show, the more cash you will make, but never do something that you do not want to do!
Your broadcasting equipment
You will need to ensure that you have the following:
- A fast internet connection
- Quality microphone
- Quality webcam
We can’t stress enough just how important it is that you purchase a decent webcam and microphone. This is how people are going to be viewing you. This is how you are going to be interacting with your viewers. If you have low-quality equipment, people aren’t going to have a clue about what is going on. This means that they will be less likely to give you money during your broadcast. In fact, it is going to be difficult to gain any sort of following.
If you are planning to use ‘toys’ on your broadcast, then make sure that you have a set of quality ones to hand. Same goes for little outfits (people who watch these broadcasts love those little outfits!)
Finding a website to broadcast on
There are a lot of cam streaming sites you can head to. We suggest that you start with one of the big ones, such as Chaturbate or Cammodels. Yes. We know that there are a lot of people streaming on these websites. This does make it a bit difficult to stand out. However, the income potential on these sites is absolutely massive. There are thousands and thousands of people watching broadcasts on the main sites each and every day. Even if you are able to secure just 10-20 viewers, you will likely make a bit of cash.
Another reason why we have suggested these two websites is the fact that they have public broadcasts. This means that they rely more on a ‘tipping’ model. If people like what they see, then they tip. Some other websites out there have private broadcasts. While you can make more money with private broadcasts, it can be exceedingly difficult to make money as a ‘newcomer’ because nobody is going to toss cash at an unknown.
As you get more experienced performing on camera, you will be able to head onto some of the more niche websites. At the start of your cam girl career, you may even want to try streaming on different websites. This way you can work out which websites are the best for your style of performing.
Don’t forget; when you are looking for a new site to perform on, you will want to think about the way in which the site pays you. Obviously, you want to make as much money as possible. There is no sense going to a website that offers payment methods that are not supported where you live.
Broadcasting for the first time
Once you have set-up your cam equipment and found a website to broadcast on, it is time to go ‘live’ for the first time.
Do not expect a ton of people to roll in during your first few broadcasting sessions. You may not even make any money for a while. The whole aim of your first broadcasting sessions is to get a feel for the life of being a cam girl. Believe us when we say that people are going to talk to you in ways that you never expected. Sadly, this is part and parcel of performing on webcam.
Do whatever you feel comfortable with on camera. You will want to be focusing on building up a decent viewership on the site. The real money when you are a cam girl will come from the people that repeatedly return to your live stream to watch you. So, try and be as friendly as you can. Make sure that you are interacting with people. Give them what they want for the price you are charging (as long as you are comfortable with this)
If people tell you that there are issues with your stream, then find out what those issues are. This way you will be able to improve them for your next stream.
Continuing to make money
As time goes on, you will start to see more and more money flow in from your broadcasts. You may even start to see the same people rolling into your live stream each time you are online. If you don’t, then you may want to set up a streaming schedule so people know when they are able to watch you.
Continue to refine your prices as you stream more. Do not neglect the people who are giving you cash. You may even want to try out a few features that your selected cam site has in place e.g. the ability to run competitions, private shows, and a lot more.
It won’t be until you have completed several dozen performances that you will really feel like you are starting to get somewhere in the world of cam girl streaming. If you make it that far, then you will have managed to go further than 90% of other streamers.
